The SB Controller (SBC) and Touch are different network devices, and
therefore must have different IP addresses. So if they have the same IP
address, that's a problem for sure.
Just to rule out a possible source of the problem, you are using only
one router, right?

Several good FLAC to MP3 converters will happily pick up a folder.jpg or
cover.jpg file

Yes, you're absolutely right. What I wrote doesn't make

I suppose another workaround is to switch to using wireless for the
Touch instead of ethernet. It's less than ideal, but if the wifi signal
is good it should comfortably provide enough bandwidth for lossless
streaming, especially as the server will still be wired to the router.

I've seen some reports of people successfully using the Touch with
bus-powered USB drive, but success rates are much better with USB drives
that have their own power supplies. Even with external power USB HDD
power supplies, the Touch + USB drive arrangement is not 100% reliable.

correct the time on the device itself.
I'm not sure if time zone is in the Touch or Radio's initial setup
dialog. It may pull that info from mysb
Have you tried ssh'ing in to the Touch and Radio to set the time
correctly via the command line, and then seeing if that sticks?
Or, if you're pretending to be in another time zone on mysb.com, why
not go all the way and pretend to be in that time zone in real life

The Touch requires Squeezebox Server 7.5 or later. You can get all
released versions of the server software from

I suggest starting with 7.5.6. And definitely do not try 7.6.0.

around, and keep your music library on the NAS. LMS has no problem
accessing a music library on a network drive. That's exactly what my

of the things that makes TinySBS "tiny" is that SBS's built-in web
server is disabled. You could control the Touch from your laptop using
SqueezePlay, which mimics the Touch's menus. Or maybe you could use
some 3rd party software such as JRi
Maybe the reboot (that followed the firmware update) was all that the
Touch really needed.

Erland's CoverFlow applet will act as a screensaver, but not as a UI on
the Touch for browsing albums. If I remember correctly, he looked into
incorporating album browsing, but found he couldn't get it to work
smoothly enough on the Touch to be worthwhile.
TT 3.0 in "standalone mode" works for you, that's great.

Yes, that's very slow. It's normal not to achieve a wifi "G" network's
