7.6?

I haven't gone back and read the thread, but have you tried a factory
reset (hold down the button just above the power cord input on back).

Sorry for jumping in with stuff you've likely tried. But I assume that
you do NOT have anything plugged into the USB port or SD card port.
Correct? And can you temporarily connect to router via ethernet and
choose ethernet connection over wifi.
I can connect either way. In the last few minutes, bothe SBS and Touch
have upgraded to 7.4. I'll switch to ethernet to see whether that
changes anthing, but i'm not optomistic.

Gary - hope I didn't offend. I've two years experience playing with a

You don't 'release' a Squeezebox when you change players in the web

The Touch has never been connected wirelessly. I note that my router is
seeing the touch as having an IP address assigned by DHCP, rather than
a fixed IP address, and I wonder whether that is causing the problem,
or a sign of the problem? My SB3 shows a fixed IP address.

So it doesn't work without security either?
I would go with WPA regardless of your lack of a need for security. As
someone stated above, it's likely to be better tested that WEP
authentication. Unless you have some wireless computer or device that
can't use WPA. Use a fairly short passphrase if you want to make it
