There are some (18) bad sectors in my friends Asus EEE PC 1000HA. Windows
(XP) cannot be loaded, but Ubuntu can be. Is there any way to fix those bad
sectors? I have retrieved all the data, and entirely erased and used the

Да нет проблем, кому так нра. - пользуйтесь. Мне больше нравится
использовать нативный софт. Да и взялся я за это тело, только потому что
надо было скриптом распаковывать кучу zip архивов в виндовой кодировкой.

На форуме никто не отреагировал, попробую спросить здесь.
Ubuntu 10.04 (обновленная с 9.04 - 9.10 - 10.04), ядро 2.6.35-30 из
backports
Звуковая карточка встроенная, alsaconf говорит, что это nVidia Corporation
MCP51 AC97 Audio Controller (rev a2)
Имеется также HDMI-вывод

2.6.38 :-( Для Maverick их нет... что, теперь только переустановка? Или
можно как-то выдрать эту новую альсу и поставить 1.0.23?

apt-get update
устанавливаем нужное
sed 's/natty/maverick/g' -i /etc/apt/sources.list
apt-get update
всегда так делаю. И назад (скажем gtk1 установить), и вперёд. Нормально
прокатывает

не-не. Вы просто установите ядро из репозирория netty
PS: у меня netty и обычный гном O_o. Хотя согласен, компиз к примеру они
совсем погубили. И как раз таким способом я установил компиз из maverick.

Ядро 2.6.38.8 встало из пакета, и звук после перезагрузки появился, и
HDMI-карта сразу загружается подключенной, звук на ней больше не нужно
включать вручную!

Мне не нравится только отсутствие этих пакетиков в ppa, если сделаешь
и будешь стабильно обновлять будет супер-пупер :) Мне удобно
ч ге вижу в этом смысл. Даже для себя. Зачем их регулярно обновлять если
проще залочить.

Если будут мажорные релизы, объявлю на github. Каждый минор обновлять -
лишняя трата времени.
