If you just want to be able to move the mouse around, and it's an Ericsson
phone, then just go to remote control in the phone, and connect it, and it
works. If it's another phone, then I don't know, I've been pretty faithful
to sony all my life which may be a bad thing, but it works for me so
Maybe nautilus has died? Or isn't connecting to the desktop properly - I've
had that happen, and nothing works on the desktop at all, not even right
click...try killing nautilus or something. Can't say the background has ever
vanished though :/

Just reverted back to clean ubuntu appearance - normal theme and desktop

has anyone managed to get their motorola v3 working on linux? I only run
linux in the house (apart from a couple of old, decrepid windows
laptops), and would like an easier method of file transfer than
bluetooth - mainly because it's slow.

to give the choice in the installation process. I suppose I'd have to
