We've bypassed the search problem in Launchpad by using a LibreOffice spreadsheet. Here's what we've done for the DDTP (Universe). It's enabled by a recent bugfix in Launchpad Po export. You can basically sort, search the DDTP in the spreadsheet and find similar strings.
