Has anyone else noticed that .pdfs exported from .odt are 5 times or so
bigger than those exported from .sxw?
That is, a 15kb file saved as a .sxw will export a 70kb or so .pdf,
while the same file saved as a .odt exports almost 400kb.

quickstart facility on linux. I do not ask for a nice working GUI, I ask
for a basic working command line argument/flag combination. [Adapting
ooqstart is trivial to me]

I could find no way in Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 to specify Firefox. As I
said in my post, Firefox is my default browser and has been that since I
installed it a while ago.
It's me again. I forgot to mention, the Getting Started Guide exist on my
HD. I wasn't accessing it on the web. I had downloaded it from the web
when I first came across it.

in Excel I could Paste Values only, so that the values in cells are frozen
(i.e., there are no formulas in these cells, just values). I have not found
a way how to do the same with OOCalc (2.0) even through reading user guide.

with about 10 photos or other jpg graphics which I put into PDF format

exporting, from MathType5.0 to a picture format (eg, .png), then
inserting the formula as a graphic.
Alternatively the inbuilt formular editor with OOo is very good and
useful... worth giving it a go... maybe

I know it sounds simplistic, but you need to look in the folder where
you resaved the document. While your saving it, have a look at where
it is saved and then use windows explorer (since it seems your on a
windows machine) to locate the file again...

If you can't submit the error report using the error reporter built
into OOo, try to lodge a bug using www.openoffice.org. You have to
create a login first, then lodge an issue (bug).. You can also attach
the copy of the presentation, if its not sensitive...

If you've already got the results of the query displayed, go into
Calc, select all the data, then (from the data source explorer
browser) select the icon of "data to text". This will put all the
data into the calc spreadsheet and you can do with it as you like...
