I have OO 1.1.4 installed and have been using it for some time. I would now like to install 2.1 instead on the presumption that it is better. Is it indeed a desirable thing to do and if so, do I need to uninstall 1.1.4. before I attempt to install 2.1. I have an Evesham AMD 64 3200 with a 200

I am trying to protect a document as Read Only. I go to Tools, Options Security and check the box as Read Only. Then I save it and go back out. When I go back in to the document it is not opening as Read Only and the box is no longer checked. Please help me with this. My number is 4501-812-753

Based on the OOo license, people are allowed to sell OOo. Without further information its hard to say what that exact user was selling. However, the standard version of OOo (www.openoffice.org) does not have that 'ribbon' that Office 2007 is trying to claim enhances productivity (thank goodness)..
