My experience is different.
As long as you don't run but walk not too fast while the rumble of thunder
lasts you can take quite a few steps withou being spotted. Up to 8 or more at
times.
I got the bonus for this level of taking all steps under cover of thunder so it
realy works.

Yes, I think so. Once you start getting into noisy crunchy situations
everywhere, you just have to run for it; no fancy stuff required. :)

About telling if you got it, you can see it after a level is finished and you
are presented with the opttion to play again. On this screen you can flick
around and see if success acheivement is on o

simply have to be fast, fast, fast. Once the narrator says something to
the effect of "oh, just run! Get out of there!" then you just run as fast

I am still having trouble with this level. I only moved with thunder and only
ran after smashing the 3rd music thing. Then count-down begins and I reach
safety but achievement is still off. Wish they would tell you when you make the
mistake. Do you also smash under cover of thunder?
When you get close enough to the door, you can just run for it before the hogs
catch you.
