In the settings for Fantastical, do you have reminders turned on?
If you want both the month view and reminders if reminders is turned on, the
upper half of the screen is the month view, then about midway down the screen
you will find reminders, and below that is each appointment in order.
That is the alternate calendar view that you can toggle too by using a three
finger swipe down when focus is in the heading with the month, year etc.
If you want more information as to why it is there, you will need to ask the
developer.
