You can always stop iTunes from launching or cancel the auto-sync before it has a chance to delete your songs. Also auto-sync won't function on a Mac with a PC format iPod. If it did I'd use the PC format for my iPod cause stupid Windows doesn't even read Mac format iPods. Ruben A. Franke
