A Clone of My Own
This weekend I moved house. No, not the house I've lived in for the past
five years -- my PowerBook. I transferred from a 1GHz 12-inch PowerBook G4
to the new 1.33GHz 12-inch PowerBook G4 . It's
without having to scroll. Can that be done on the new PowerBook models?

Now that it is more than a year since I used Classic for anything I've
started to wonder if it is possible (and if so worth while) to remove the OS
9 component from my computer (I'm running OS 10.2.6). The hard-drive on my

Apple released a security update yesterday (10 June) which I installed on my
G3 PowerBook 400, OS 10.2.6.
Secure was right - the computer wouldn't let me log-on. I'd key in my
password (as you do) and press log-in (as you do), and the screen would
shimmy. I tried repairing permissions by using
that Telstra is soon to install new equipment that should make
the problems go away.

but nothing uploads or down loads. Iinet say that a temporary cure is to

Just in case anyone who can influence changes to Apple's OS read this, I
have a HP all-in-one OfficeJet G85. Ever since OS 10.2.3 was installed on my
G3 PowerBook, the time on the OfficeJet sets to GMT whenever I print. Unless
I remember to reset the time the incorrect time prints on any fax that
I gave Safari a try today, but it seemed a bit slow. How do I remove it from
my computer?
I ran find from the Finder and dragged the plist and two folders called
Safari to trash. Is there anything more that I should do?

I strongly recommend that before you buy, you actually see the printer
working while connected to a computer that has the same OS as yours. In my
experience, not all HP and Epson printers have drivers available and the
printers do not work in any way that is acceptable (would you believe 15
privileges.

I regularly repair permissions: weekly at least, sometimes more if I am
about to and have installed updated software.
Each time I get the following message:

Thanks for the reference to HPIJS for Mac OS X. Unfortunately the curse
attached to Office Jet G85 ownership prevails. The G85 is one of the HP USB
devices that does not print successfully over what Linux Printing Org
describes as the standard MAC OS X USB backbend.

Something has improved - for the first time ever I could use the scanner but
