No. I am running dual SVGAs on mine, and I have run successfully both
with and without the hal_lib.

Hi, I have been running X without glx entensions for the longest time
because of this problem, but now I need to have it working. I'm running
this on a FreeBSD 5.0 machine with GeForce2 card. The problem is when I
uncomment the glx line, the server core dumps and tells me:
Symbol __glXActiveS

Hi Alex,
The ViRGE GX2 is supported by XFree86 4.3.0 on Unix operating
systems. Downloads of XFree86 are available from http://www.xfree86.org
. The binaries are in ftp://ftp.xfree86.org/pub/XFree86/4.3.0/

Known bug in line drawing acceleration in Radeon driver prior to
4.3. It is supposed to be fixed in that release, but I have not tried
it yet.

Without a config file and a log, it's really not possible to tell what's
happening. There are many, many things that can be wrong with a config
file that will prevent the server from
nhancements and bug fixes.
In you configuration, the device should specify 'Driver0 "ati"'.

This is NOT a bug. The ATI Rage128 chipset on the All-In-Wonder 128 Pro
video card is actually locked into a refresh rate of 60 Hz at 800X600
resolution when TV is enabled. The card itself cannot produce two different
refresh rates at the same time to satisfy both your monitor and the TV
signal. Ho

To avoid the problem, switch to a character display before suspending.
Maybe BIOS will fix this some day or someone will come up with a
work-around.

I'm wondering what KDE would have to do with this.
I see you have many small problems. You most likely also just installed a newer
version of X and upgraded from a 3.3.x server. The /etc/X11/XF86Config file for
the 3.3.x server uses the keyword device in ways that the newer 4.x.x Xserver
