It's entirely possible that space and time are quantised at the smallest scale, and that the universe is closed (though expanding) at the largest scale. So there may be a smallest turtle and a largest turtle. Certainly there is a largest possible system of human consciousness, and a largest possible system of earth consciousness. But even if there is an infinite consciousness it is still possible to vow to liberate all beings, without number. -- Charles
