Why would an AHJ buy off on a sprinkler head? Is he sure it's going to operate at the appropriate temperature? Is it going to deliver a spray pattern that will control the fire? We have good evidence some sprinkler heads do not function made by another company that subsequently was bought by the company the makes the program. Well you say its Listed that's why. Well so is the calculation program. Don't get me wrong I have reservations about the program but its Listed and allowed by the law. If you are a specifying engineer you can certainly limit the use of the program. But AHJ's can only follow the law.
