I want to thank you both, Danny and Mnyb for your help. I think progress has been made. After uninstalling Avast I installed AVG. I find now that if I shut down my computer the first player I try to connect to mysqueezebox.com connects and the next one doesn't( it doesn't seem to matter if I connect the Boom or the Classic first). It seems to me that the problem, which Mnyb pointed me to, is somehow connected to the Antivirus software. While the set up is not ideal ( I would prefer if I could get both players to connect to mysqueezebox.com when the computer is off it is definitely close. I realize you both spent a fair bit of time on this and if you stop posting I could hardly blame you. You have been much more helpful than tech support who kept me on hold more than anything.
