Conggrats, if it's works. I did a similar thing when I was on adsl I bridged the providers modem and used my wrt54gl with tomato to set up ppoe etc. Bridging bypasses the the modem completely so that the wrt54gl gets the external ip directly.
I suppose turning of DHCP on the WAN side, will make your wrt54gl getting the direct connection from Bell ? I'm not sure why this workaround works ? Maybe Bell prohibit you from bridging the darn thing. If you get an external IP for your wrt54 you are probably good to go. Otherwise running 2 routers in series as routers can be a bit of hassle regarding port-forwarding and similar stuff, as it has to be done in both places -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe'Primare and Dynadio speakers (including a pair of Contour 4 ) Bedroom/Office: Boom Kitchen: SB3 + powered Fostex PM0.4 Miscellaneous use: Radio (with battery) I use a Controller various ir-remotes and a Eee-PC with squeezeplay to control this ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77280 _______________________________________________ squeezenetwork mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezenetwork
