In conjunction with the the statement above, it depends if you want
you wife to have as good of a computer that you have.

Well, to clarify - I was considering a new Apple for her and the boys until
this thing wiggled its way into our house.
(The boys are learning how NOT to destroy a computer on a 7500.)

Yes, I would want the S900 to function reliably but would not need to be a
hotrod of a machine. Mostly DSL and WordPerfect and the boys' CD-ROM
educational games.
A G3 upgrade running 9.1 should be more then enough to satisfy these needs.
But it is kindof large and noisy (fan) to serve as a basic appliance,
especially in the living area.
