A Bar is
[...]
b) in southern countries like the mediterranean it is integral part of the
lifestyle. You go there in the morning to have breakfast, at lunch they
serve simple meals, all day long (if not closed after lunch) people use them
to get a quick coffee and in the evening it's a meating place to get an
aperitive before dinner. Some are open in the evening and night though
mostly they close in the evening, some also sell tobacco, sweets and stamps.
Unlike a pub this kind of bar is open for breakfast and coffee plays a way
bigger role than beer.
