I would not be adverse to it. Google Groups has multiple digesting options, both web and e-mail interface, hides the quoted text from folks that refuse to trim the original email and (most importantly IMHO) can be viewed in a threaded fashion.
We've been using a private one internally for work and will set-up ones for our customers shortly.
