Definitely go with the x300 if at all possible.  It's bound to have
better support as the times go on.  My Radeon 7500 really makes it
difficult to have 3D.  The ATI drivers aren't always the best under
linux, but the support for the x300 (and the 9600) is actually really
good right now.
