A Bristol woman has had to leave her job as a
supermarket curry taster because her partner didn't
like the "after effects". Sarah Wilson was employed
by Kwik Save at their head office in Bristol to taste
their range of curries. Her job meant she had to taste
curries up to five times a week. However, her partner
Garth gave her an ultimatum to either give up her
job or forget their relationship because of the lingering
smell of curry. Kwik Save say Sarah left her job this
weekend.
A Romanian family refused to cancel an expensive
wedding just because the groom was in a coma and
got his brother to stand-in instead. The Carasel family
from the village of Turceni had invited dozens of friends
and relatives from across the country to the celebration.
They did not want to cancel it even though hours earlier
their son Gabriel had been involved in a serious car
accident. Standing in for his brother at the celebrations
Dumitru Carasel said: "Gabriel will marry his bride when
he recovers, until then we should celebrate."
A thief in Denmark drilled a small hole in a jewellery
shop window and used a vacuum cleaner to suck out
�8,200 worth of jewellery. Police in Kolding say he
used an extension cord and a power socket in a nearby
building site. The cleaner, which was abandoned at the
scene of the crime, did not set the alarm off. The owner
of Lykke's Gold and Silver store: "We discovered it when
we came to work in the morning. It was terrible but at the
same time funny because who would have thought of
doing it that way." Ms Salling says the thief sucked up
small items including rings, necklaces and earrings.
