That is what I have observed when selecting "pulse" in the wsjtx
settings. But when I have set to the other mentioned source and sink,
the program was working. This was what Saku has observed too. In your
case, the program did not work although the source and sink have been
change. Here is a difference.

This is my opinion too. There is a problem in the interaction of Qt,
pulseaudio and wsjtx. I have not observed similar problems on Fedora 28
while using other programs using pulseaudio.

Please allow me to return to my previous suggestion to try to use gdb,
in order to get more information about the hanging state.
