I've heard (but never tried) that you can put the unencrypted password in ar.conf, and the AR server will catch it, encrypt it and use that from then on. That probably won't change the database password, but, if that works, you would be able to at least put your new password in and have it use it. The line you're looking for in ar.conf is "Db-password:"
