Have to agree with Julia here. I've met at least ten without even trying. Four of them I'm on a first name basis with. (Two I ride bikes with, another who married my cousin's widow, and the fourth is in my social/service club.) Two houses ago my rep's office was in the same plaza as my comic dealer. I walk past Santorum's office every day now but have not seen him yet.
