In theory that might work. In practice, I have never heard of anyone
doing so. The process seems to work fine anyway. The amount of copper
dissolving from a chiller (or other piping) is going to be microscopic.
Maybe the yeast can take some advantage of it, but the difference will
not be all that big. for your first (hundred?) brews, I would not even
start to worry about it.


Remember, it will be beer anyway!
