If you are mooring in the basin itself you will find it is stern on so you
will have to reverse in anyway.

The pride if you achieve it in one try will be great !

Since when Trevor? I admit I haven't moored in the basin for a few years. Are
you saying that there's now so many boats that it looks like a "Little Venice"
weekend?
What a shame if that is the case. Narrowboats moored like that become even
more mysterious to the passing general public who, if passing by a usual
'longways' moored boat are more inclined to stop & talk to the owners [o.k. the
owners might not want to talk, especially if it's the usual questions:- Are
they cold in the winter? Do you live on board? etc etc.] but moored end on,
bums to the shore, the owners are out of chat range whether they want to be or
not!
Let me say @ this juncture that I realise Little Venice *has* to be this way
owing to restictions on space & in no way is this a criticism, but Bancroft
Basin is much larger &, I would have thought, not generally so well populated
with boats.
