Ignoring your argument which is meant to have emotional appeal: Drive, determination,qualification in short MERIT, may guarantee a White person a job in corporate America, or admission into a top University, but the FACT is that it did NOT guarantee a Non White the same position or entry. HENCE the need for the Affirmative action program. This is where I say that certain individuals must be experiencing cognitive dissonance if they do not realise and accept this.It is a fact.It was the *Reason* for the Civil Rights movement in the United States which was NOT that long ago!
