Oh! So let's see if my "theory" holds up ... the longer a soldier stays in Iraq the higher I'm saying his probability of being killed is. Let's see! 0.999983^730 = 0.987667 or 98.77% chance of living meaning the chance of dying is: 1-0.9877=0.0123 or 1.2% So, there you have it. I'm right. Based on current statistics a soldier has a 0.6% chance of dying in one year of combat and a 1.2% chance of dying in 2 years of combat. Put another way, the longer you stay, the more likely you are to die. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/message.cfm/messageid:220439 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
