I'm reading 1776 right now. Great book, I'm just at the point now where
General Washington is leading a campaign across the Delaware.

Just thinking about how the constitution was created, right before
additional British reinforcements landed in Boston. In thinking they needed
to protect their nation by all means necessary. You kinda get the idea how
how the second amendment got enough legs to be instated in the first place.

Lets say something goes seriously wrong in society, nation wide. The give or
take 700,000 police officers may not be able to handle all of the
population. It's like a riot in the streets, but you have no where to run.
While we could care less about our physical belongings, the people
themselves may not be safe. Worse than a civil war as it would be anarchy.
No one wants to believe something like this could happen but if it did, I
would sure like to have a firearm and ammo to protect myself. Weather it's
sitting in my house, venturing out to find water and food.
