Actually in many places that's the only sort of food that's available.
For instance in certain areas of DC there are no grocery stores, only
convenience stores that have very little fresh food that's typically
overpriced. So if you're on a very limited budget, and there is
nothing else in a reasonable area, what to you buy Kraft Dinner for a
little over a dollar, or spend 5 times that much on some sorry looking
vegetables etc.
