I can't help but note that the posters below say that the CCIE isn't as
"necessary" or "valid" as it used to be...and yet continue to put "CCIE
Written" under their credentials. :-)

I know how you feel, I did my written last October, just because I could
(I'm an Independant consultant, so it costs me money to do these things.)

I'm principally (sp?) a designer, and currently hold both CCNP and CCDP
certification, and am studying for both the Voice and Security
Specialisations.

I went for one IE lab, and it is very, very difficult, so I'm whimping out,
and not gonna bother.

I bring in about 120,000 Sterling PA to my company, and even with an IE
cert, that would only increase to 150,000, whereas Voice and Security are in
demand (I do lots of VoIP work, particularly with Level(3) and BT), so I
believe that these areas will bring in equal or more income than an IE.

My two penety, anyway.
