I have found a good bit of conflicting information on the causes of down/down and up/down. All agree that down/down can be caused by: 1. no cable connection 2. CSU/DSU powered down Some other reasons, although not consistently referenced in the literature are: 1. Faulty cable (may also cause up/down) 2. csu/dsu failure (not specify hardware or software)(may also cause up/down) 3. router serial int hardware problem 4. a DCE router interface will be down/down if DTR is not raised by the DTE device
There are a plethora of reasons for up/down Not sure this clarifies, but hope it helps some Message Posted at: http://www.groupstudy.com/form/read.php?f=7&i=47136&t=47101 -------------------------------------------------- FAQ, list archives, and subscription info: http://www.groupstudy.com/list/cisco.html Report misconduct and Nondisclosure violations to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
