Peter, I think your approach to the runway is more correct than anything I have seen here lately. I would recommend that you continue the same system. You do not have anything to worry about as far as shock cooling goes if you continue this way. I have had an Ercoupe since I started flying in 1958. So, regardless of the expert opinions that come from the leather jacket types, I would say that you are doing it correctly and safely. Have a great day Karl
