I was wondering how far off the mark I am and is there cause for
concern?  I have 6516Q an Alon 66.  When abeam the #'s and at cruise of
2000rpm I pull the carb heat and pull the rpm's to 1200 and maintain
70-75mph all the way till I know I can make the numbers.. without a head
wind(or crosswind)I keep her close to 70mph.  Is there any concern about
engine shock cooling?  Does the carb heat add any benefit to the
cylinder head temp?  And thanks to you all for the encouragement and
responses. I did get this wonderful ticket to learn..and a beautiful
bird to fly..Pete
