I am personally interested in Professionalization for positive reasons (help new practitioners [and existing practitioners too] learn the "right way" and give them the chance to achieve excellence, which will benefit their employers and society as a whole) rather than negative reasons (we better regulate ourselves before big brother regulates us) but, this is a valid point... We owe it to our employers and society as a whole to try to do our job correctly and care enough about the end result to "stop the line" if we see a defect being passed thru...
