The crash shouldn't happen, however if increasing buffered secdons helsp a bit, it sounds like an ISP traffic manipulation where the ISP is rearranging live traffic which is normally a continuous stream of packets and holding the data back and making the streams into big bursts of data some of which is timing out. This is OK for file transfer or webpages but no live audio.
