I didn't even notice this. Probablly because in the past I have just been buying names for myself.

Now that I have active end users because of the price drop I will have to goto them and see if they feel obligated to pay the renewal fees that I will be automatically charged for (and after their domain names have already been renewed).

What if they decide they don't want to pay? I find this completely unacceptable and I'm sure the end users will too since it isn't spelled out anywhere on the site and the billing for the auction has already been completed. My only choice if they don't want to pay is to take unlock/locking away from the end user accounts and hold the domains hostage.

This is all on top of explaining it takes 100 days to get a domain name.

Tucows: Why not have the auction for the names AFTER the RGP period is over and be able to deliver the domain name to the end user accounts within 48 hours of the auction close?

Hi Maxine,

> There is nothing in any of the Auction help documentation, which as
you know, we as resellers can't modify, that advises the auction bidder they
are responsible for the annual renewal payment to the reseller.

That is exactly my concern. I could find nothing that indicated I would get
an invoice straight after winning/paying for the auction - that needs to be
spelled out in very large letters (or preferably take the renewal with the
auction fee*). I know our clients are going to be very surprised/angry to
hear this if this is the case.

The problem we then have is that someone may have won the auction but refuse
to pay for the renewal. What happens then? The documentation seems to show
that this renewal is taken automatically from our account at day -81?

*maybe put a config option into so we can insert our 1 year renewal price
into the system but even just taking the base rate would be ok at this
point.

Best Regards,

Nick
