People are more likely to spend their gold if they know there is a storage fee that would be paid if the gold would just sit there. I like very much the mechanisms of E-gold because, as I said before, they are professional, they are meant to increase the business. Of course, maybe, one day E-gold will cover the storage fee with the transfer fee... when the E-gold will be used on a world scale.
So, the storage fee does influence the (e)gold economy because it significantly affects the minds of individuals, and that is regardless of what it cost E-gold to store the gold.
