Are you running the latest firmware? I found that in the 2.20 that I'm running Wayne has added a bit of code that prevents the rig from TXing immediately upon power up. You get an ERR PTT upon power up. Then when you remove the PTT source you get an ERR KEY for a short bit then things go back to normal.
