I bought the commercial version specifically so I could make a support 
call.  No need to change anything now, and I know what to do when this 
particular error shows up.  other than that, it is very reliable, and I 
have 3 old Windows packages running on it, plus Samba file sharing, and 
it all works.  To support some of my oldest products, I need to run a 
Xilinx package from 1995 or so, and it has all sorts of licensing 
problems as Xilinx no longer can generate a license key for 3rd party 
software that was part of it, so it gets REALLY messy to get it all 
working again.  It usually takes me about 2 weeks to completely rebuild 
all the packages, so I am REALLY averse to changing anything!

VMware must do a good job of hiding the open source version, I had no 
idea there was such a thing.
