Subject: Re: [Emc-users] 6i24 + 7i44 configuration
Well I'm suspecting this could be a firmware issue. I can't see the
gpio.000 in the parameters list to change it's state to make it an output.
I tried this to see if I'm able to activate the /TX3BENA. All the other
step-gens are working fine it seems (I've only tested the three I need).
I'm going to try flashing again the 6i24 but I doubt that could solve the
problem.
If the firmware loads, reflashing will not help (if it loads it means the
firmware has a valid CRC)
What does
sudo mesaflash --device 6I24 --readhmid
report?
Please let me know if there's something I can try.
Thanks!

Well, I checked the cable for continuity on those pins and everything
seems to be ok. I still can't output pulses from those pins. I can only
sense the direction changing. The only thing I can come up with is to shift
to stepgen 1 and 2 for X and Z and leave stepgen 0 unused. At least until I
can solve the problem.

I was gonna suggest that, Leonardo, I've had flat cables that had gone
funkity in just a year because they needed another trip thru the vice to
bring the crimps and the idc connectors fully together because they
never fully latched the first time. And age of the connector can be
important if its not visibly gold flashed. Those tend to get
intermittent in 5 to 10 years. Cut the old connector off flush and put a
new plated connector on it if its still long enough to reach, or order
both connectors and enough cable to make a new one that will reach.
