Thanks Mario -- what you told me to do does in fact work.  I can read the
email in my terminal.  Looks like the problem is my mda settings --
whatever the heck those are.

Ok, next dumb question.  Can you tell me how to use this sendmail thingy? 
Is this a deamon which is suppose to be running in the background?  I
assume that sendmail is this "mda" you mentioned?  I've looked over the
sendmail manpage, but I'm already confused.  I'm going back to try again
tho.

Thanks for the help, at least I know where the problem isn't.
