I got home a little while ago. It's been a long day. Poll watching 7-9 am,
worked all day, poll watched again 7-9 pm then zipped over to HQ to watch the
numbers come in. There were about 100 Dems crammed into a tiny front office,
cheering non-stop a good ten minutes while Curt stood on top of a table, thumbs
up, smiling, thanking everyone.

This was an important win. If Steve Burgmeier had won, the Republicans would
have made national hay over Iowa's Supreme Court decision in favor of gay
marriage. The Mormons put 80K into Steve's campaign.

The turnout was HUGE, over 7,000, more than the general election for State
District 90. The Dems had $200K into it and the Repubs had $250K. Money sure
drives the vote. Curt is finishing John Whitaker's term so he will run again in
2010. Becky is up for reelection too. We're going to be busy Dems campaigning
again in 2010. It's going to be fun.
