You'll probably want to switch to the Rudy Richter distribution of GrowlMail then. It will make use of the new framework being developed for the Growl 1.3 release. Hopefully you like the Smoke display style though, as the framework will only include that one style. In that particular case GrowlMail/Mail.app will be the app producing the window with your notification.
