I then, used my USB 1.1 Ext. HD case popped in the HD as slave and used CCC to clone OSX.3(7B85) from another iMac w/ only OSX on it onto the 1st. partition of my HD, I then removed the HD from the USB HD case and put it back into the iMac while removing the now unneeded jumpers. And so, both then hopeful bootable Systems were on separate partitions are within 'bout the first logical 7.8Gb of the HD and should've been well under the 8Gb limit. And then with a shakey finger I hit the KB power key, slipped in DiskWarrior and rebuilt both partitions with a System on it, reboot into TechToolPro checked out all as OK(passed), reboot into the OS9.2.1 install disk(why you ask?, because neither DW nor TTP now offer a StartUp Disk choice, only a restart upon quit) , now chose OS9.2.2 as the startup, had a OS9 fast checkout with a few tweaks toss'd in(like, making a very sparce Set w/ Ext. Manager and rebooting to it, I by then, had found the courage to select the OSX and reboot into it, and Wa'La~ majically OSX was all there and working(albait slowly from the lack of both; RAM and the 160Mbs installed being the dog slow PC66 variety and Not nearly enough of it. I will now be waiting for funds to upgrade the RAM to at least; 512Mbs consisting of 2ea. x 256MB PC100 CL2 SO-DIMM Low-Profile chips, but am not able to locally find them, so am wondering if there are any of the more readably available PC133 SO-DIMM type that are 256/128Mb and both; low-density and low- profile, and that are 144pin and being fully backward compatable to pc100 ol' iMac type out there??, and just what would their type officially be called/named?? Your Guru advise on this much needed RAM is again sought and hoped for. TIA for Anything/Everything/ All you can offer. (fyi- do Not use a slow RPM HD, the 7,200rpm ATA (even the 66) will produce much better results) I am indebted to the List and All the Gurus here who helped me both on-list and off- to get this far along on this quest of mine, I Thank You All for your help. Color me hopeful for a lil' more info on the RAM. Respectful of GURUs Bill Cornett cornettATgolDOTcom "Rust never sleeps."-N. Young / -- The iMac List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
