I tried replacing the drive with one that has OS 9 and the flash utilities
on it, but the machine powers on to the screen with the Mac faces (doesn't
flash with the ?) and just sits there. Any idea what might be causing that?
I used the CUDA, tried zapping PRAM, to no avail.

The 233 Bondi had a slightly different design than the 300-450 iMacs and
iMac DV's which are all the same basic design.
The 333 is a tray-loader like the Bondi and completely different from the
350+ iMacs and iMac DVs which are slot-loaders.
