I thought the consensus was that OE was to be avoided as buggy free
junk? I'd say that is your prime suspect.

The SMTP is working fine, as your log shows.
You've left off the key issue: how is she reading her box: POP3 or
IMAP? You should be able to look at the POP3 logs and see her box in
action (read, DL, delete). Are you logging POP3? Does she also
connect with Web Msging, maybe at the same time? Does she ever have
connection pb's while connecting to your Imail which can screw up the
mailbox sync between POP3 client and server.
