Hi
The answer is that the mailbox has gotten out of synch between the
server and the client. Have the customer delete the account on their
machine and recreate it. The new account has no record of what was
previously recieved and there for it will download a copy of all messages on
the server. You can also do this by creating the account on another
machine.
A rather simple explanation of the process is, when a mail client logs
on to the server it has a list of the messages it has recieved for each
account. It compaires that to the list of messages in that account on the
server. It then downloads any messages that are not on it's list.
