Bud,

This log seems to have 'DELE 1' where the others (if I remember correctly)
did not. True the client did not download the message, so why did it delete
it?? Certainly seems like the client did not do what it should have.

I have had some recent troubles with OE (using IMAP) where it would not
'purge' the deleted messages. The maibox no longer conatined the messages
(so IMail worked OK), but OE still thought they were there. I had to go int
the Maintenance screen and 'Delete messages'. When the dust cleared, it now
seems to be working OK. Probably cannot apply this to a POP3 connection.

In the client, does it leave copies on the server, or download then delete?
Any difference if the method is changed? Is the email client, shut down
daily or left running all the time? If left on and another connection is
made and say a delete is done, that would leave OE thinking the message is
there when it might not be. I recommed all users to shutdown their email
clients at the end of the work day.

Daniel Donnelly
