Eric This one makes sense. Seems the initial install of the product gives you your default settings. Then even when you start services later for the very first time within Imail, they are still out there with your install default and must then be manually modified. Although some of their services have check boxes where you can flag items to be started at install, many do not. Its inconsistent within their product.
As with any product, I always feel you should be able to control a product from within the product. This allows us to delegate specific management of products to various groups without making everything open ended for all. There needs to be some sort of intervention be it programmatically or manually. When they were installed they were set to manual by default UNLESS you told the install not to start them automatically. Change them automatic and all will be as you expect Eric S ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, June 12, 2004 4:27 PM Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] IMAIL services not restarting Within Services, they are both set to Manual. I would expect that these services should be able to be controlled thru the Imail product and not have to be externally and manually controlled. As for the Security log, not sure where that would be. I see 3 logs. The messages, the spam and the SYSlog.txt and none appear to be security related or log any of the product service actions. Is there another log ? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of darrell_list Sent: Saturday, June 12, 2004 1:11 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] IMAIL services not restarting Are they set to "Automatic" in the services tab? If so, does the security log show any type of account logon failures?
